Robert E. Sullivan, 75, of Chicopee, passed away after a short illness on Friday, March 26, 2021. Robert was born on February 14, 1946 in Northampton, MA to the late Edward and Emily (Crabbe) Sullivan.
Bob attended Northampton schools and started working early in life. He worked early on as an EMT for Gold Cross Ambulance, then started his own livery service with two limousines and a hearse. He worked for several years in the laboratory at Cooley Dickinson Hospital before moving on to the Holyoke Soldiers Home where he worked as an aide for more than 30 years. He also worked for Hampshire Manor in Easthampton for many years.
More often than not he worked two jobs simultaneously, most being with various funeral homes in the area, but always with the John F. O'Connell Funeral Home. He was also previously a proud member of the Hampshire County Deputy Sheriff’s Association.
Bob leaves his daughter Jenifer (Sullivan) Muscaro of Belchertown, her husband John and grandsons Michael and Matthew; son Ryan Sullivan of Sandwich, his wife Lindsay and granddaughters Sydney and Sawyer; daughter Diana Lynn Sullivan of Granby and her fiancé Robert Johnson, who was like another son to him. Robert also leaves his former spouses Mary (Griffin) Sullivan and Maryanne Chmura, mothers to his children.
Bob enjoyed going to the Cape to see the ocean and spend time with family. He liked going antiquing and collecting old Matchbox and model cars. But most of all, he loved his scratch tickets and lottery numbers, always hoping to win big.
He was predeceased by his brother, Eugene Sullivan but is survived by his two nephews, Shamus Sullivan and Shaun Sullivan.
