Richard J. Booth, 67, of South Hadley, Mass. passed away peacefully on June 29, 2023, after a long battle with chronic kidney disease at Baystate Medical Center in Springfield, Mass. Richard was born on November 8, 1955, in Belper, England, and settled in the U.S. in 1966 with his family. Preceded in death are his parents, Florence Mary Wray Alton, and Kenneth J. Booth. Richard is survived by his wife, Laurie A. (Young) Booth, of South Hadley, a daughter, Erin L. Saykin of South Hadley, a son, Jamie R. Booth of South Hadley, and a grandson, Sage S. Saykin also of South Hadley. Richard is also survived by three brothers, Kenneth Booth of N.H., Ian Booth of Agawam, Mass., and Micheal Booth of Westfield, Mass. He is also survived by two sisters, Diane Conklin of Southwick, Mass., and Hilary Chamberlain of Westfield, Ma. Richard also leaves many nieces and nephews. Richard was employed as a machine designer for City Machine in Holyoke, Ma. Richard was a very quiet man who loved his family and friends. He enjoyed taking long rides through the countryside, and he loved bird watching. He also enjoyed listening to gospel and country music, and listening to his ham radio. Instead of a funeral or wake, there will be a celebration of life to be held at a later date. All who would like to attend will need to go to Graham’s Funeral Home website, or contact his wife.
