WESTHAMPTON, MA – Nancy Ann (Judd) Graham, 84, passed away peacefully on April 1st, 2022 at the Arbors of Greenfield. She was under the care of Hospice of Cooley Dickinson and Kiz Helping Hands – a care team of wonderful, dedicated individuals.
Nancy was born in Pittsfield, MA in 1937, where she attended school, before moving to Florence and attending St. Michael’s School in Northampton. Nancy also helped her dad in the early days of his machine shop on Federal Street in Baystate Village, which was the start of Yankee Hill Machine Co., still in operation today. She took college courses including shorthand and typing, as well as sewing classes at Hill Institute.
Nancy was the eldest sibling of five, often entrusted to raise her brothers and sisters alongside their parents. Nancy loved to read and volunteered at Lily Library, and later at Forbes Library. This turned into a 40-year career at Forbes as an administrative assistant. Her enthusiasm for adventurous stories was contagious, and she inspired many people throughout the years with her joy and love of reading.
Nancy and her husband Don loved animals and had countless animal companions over the years, most recently their three beloved cats.
Nancy was a diehard Red Sox fan, a gardener, cross-country skier, bowler, avid reader, and even dabbled in belly dancing at one point. She loved to travel with her husband, visiting Arizona, Hawaii, and making several European trips. She enjoyed spending time with her family and friends; she was a dedicated and fun-loving daughter, mother, grandmother, aunt, and mother-in-law. Even toward the end of her life, she had a wonderful sense of humor with her quick-witted one-liners.
Nancy joins her husband of 62 years, Donald Rhoades Graham; her parents Helen and Wallace Judd; her daughter Beth LaBerge; and her siblings Bill and Paul Judd. She is survived by her son Don Graham and wife Kim of Conway; her brother Bob Judd and wife Gail of Chesterfield; her sister Kathy Person and husband Stan of Arizona; her son-in-law Jim LaBerge of Westhampton; her grandchildren Kerri LaBerge of Westhampton, and Casey LaBerge and wife Sarah of Belchertown; and many nieces and nephews.
