Haydenville- Mary Elizabeth (O'Donnell) Seymour, age 91, formerly of High Street in Haydenville, died peacefully on Monday evening at the Linda Manor Extended Care Facility after a period of declining health.
Mary was born in Northampton, MA on November 18, 1928 and was the one nine children of the late Richard Henry O'Donnell and Mary Elizabeth (Delaney) O'Donnell. She was raised and educated in Northampton. In 1947 Mary married the love of her life, Merton Noel Seymour and together they
celebrated fifty five years of marriage together until Merton's death, on September 29, 2002.
Mary was a very proud mother and home maker for her family, supporting and assisting her son's as a den leader in cub scouting. She was known for her baby sitting and childcare skills for her neighborhood children. Mary also enjoyed cooking, baking, gardening and in her younger years was a member of the Haydenville Congregational Church.
She is survived by her three sons; Thomas E. Seymour and his wife Diane of Easthampton, Dennis Seymour of Northampton, Michael Seymour, daughter in law and wife of the late Anthony Seymour July 2020; Deborah Seymour of Florida, her four loving grandchildren; Kelly Seymour, David Seymour, Scott Seymour, Shaun Seymour, two cherished great grandchildren; Allie Seymour, Layla Hope Seymour, one brother and sister in law; Francis and Sally O'Donnell of Southampton and a niece; Mary Dumas of Natick. Mary was predeceased also by her seven siblings of brothers and sisters.
Funeral services for Mary will all be private with burial at the Westhampton Center Cemetery at the convenience of the family. Her family would like to thank all the staff at the Linda Manor Extended Care Facility for there love and caring support they provided to and for Mary during her time there.
