Linda Snape, 59, of Southampton passed away Saturday July 25, 2020 at home after an 8 month long battle with ovarian cancer. Linda was born in Northampton on July 13, 1961 the daughter of Donald R. Patterson and Dorothy L. (Pietraszkiewicz) Patterson.
Linda grew up in Easthampton and was a 1979 graduate of Easthampton High School. She went on to become an LPN graduating from the Smith School of Practical Nursing. Linda spent most of her nursing career working for ServiceNet Homecare in Northampton and most recently All About You in Easthampton and Excel Homecare in Ludlow. Linda loved her job, and taking care of people. She worked long hours, and often 7 days a week.
As often as she worked Linda always found time for her family. Linda leaves behind the bear hugs of her son Matthew Boulanger and an amazing bond she shared with her daughter Katie (Boulanger) Boisseau both of Southampton. Linda’s time with her family was most cherished and she loved having the house full of her kids and hosting family dinners. Grammy will be greatly missed by her grandchildren Madison Rose Boulanger (10), Brooke Madelyn Boisseau (2) and Bryce Wayne Boisseau (1). Linda’s grandchildren were the light of her world and they were always keeping her busy whether it be with sports, traveling, or simply spending time at the park.
Linda was married to her second husband Albert D. Snape in 2017 and they spent several amazing years together prior to their marriage. Linda greatly loved the outdoors and traveling with her family. Linda and her husband enjoyed camping together and frequently would pack up and take off on trips with some of her favorite destinations being South Dakota, Florida, Niagara Falls, and Bar Harbor Maine. She also loved cruising, something she did with first her daughter and then her husband as well. Bermuda was Linda’s favorite beach destination and will continue to be a special place in this world for her family. Linda will be greatly missed by her sidekick for the past 11 years her dog Rocky, whom traveled with her on her nursing visits daily waiting in the car. Together they enjoyed hiking, walks at the dog park, and Geocaching.
Linda also leaves Katie’s husband Philip, and his son Tristen Boisseau, all of Southampton, MA. Additionally, Linda leaves Albert’s children Benjamin Snape of Huntington, MA and Kaila Snape of Westhampton, MA.
There will be no calling hours, and a celebration of life will be held for Linda at her home at a later date.
