It is with extremely heavy and broken hearts that we announce the death of our beloved Craig Edward Connor, age 39. Craig left this world on Sunday, February 21, 2021 after a sudden illness at his home on Maple Street in Easthampton.
He was born in Northampton at Cooley Dickinson Hospital on December 16, 1981 to the proud parents, Laura M. (Gunn) Connor and the late Michael Austin Connor Jr. Craig was raised in Easthampton and was educated in the Easthampton public schools, graduating from Easthampton High School with the class of 2000. He continued his education at Holyoke Community College before attending Rob Roy Academy in Worcester, receiving his certification in Barbering and later received his Master License in Barbering. Craig worked in the barbering industry for many years, before partnering and opening the GROOM Barbershop in Easthampton in 2019.
In his younger years, Craig was very active in Easthampton youth sport leagues and played baseball in Little League ,Soccer and Suburban Soccer, basketball. While in high school, he was a varsity letterman four years on the Easthampton Eagles Soccer Team, continuing on the HCC Soccer Team. He was a proud member of the John Boyle O'Reilly Soccer Club in Springfield and traveled for two years to Ireland to compete in soccer tournaments at the University of Limerick.
Craig's proudest moment was the birth of his twin children, Harper and Brigham. He was a loving and a very dedicated father, providing for the well being of his family was his number one priority. He was often involved with coaching his children in the youth soccer and T-ball leagues. He looked forward and loved spending his free time with them, fishing, hiking, sledding or just hanging with them during Dadda Time.
Craig is survived by his two cherished loving children, daughter; Harper Dolores Connor and son; Brigham Michael Connor. His Mother; Laura “Laurie" M. (Gunn) Connor of Easthampton, Sister; Jamie Lynn Connor of Easthampton, Best Friend and Mother of his children; Meghan Ann Brzezinski of Easthampton, Uncle and Aunt; Richard Gunn and Jackie Gunn of Millsboro, Delaware, Aunt; Julia Wacht of Newington ,CT. father in law; Stanley Brzezinski of New York, sister in laws and brother in laws; Courtney and Brennan Struthers of Easthampton, Katelyn and Alex Rodriguez of Deerfield. He would say that he had “Three Brothers from different Mother's” Jeremy Demers, Johnathan Rosado and Shane Ezyk, a niece; Lilian Rodriguez, three nephews; Julian Rodriguez, Camden Rodriguez and Sawyer Struthers. Cousins; Andrew Gunn, Katie Wacht, Peter Wacht, Derek Gleixner and Brian Barrett and many, many dear friends, acquaintances and loyal customers.
A walk through calling hour for Craig will be held on Saturday, March 6, 2021 from 9:45-10:45 am at the Our Lady of the Valley Parish, 33 Adams Street in Easthampton, followed by a Liturgy of Christian Burial at 11am. A Celebration of Craig's Life will be announced at a later date. Burial will be private. It is asked that everyone attending the services must wear masks and maintain social distancing at all times.
