Lawrence H. Fisher

(Huntington, MA) Lawrence H, Fisher, age 79, died at home on July 10, 2018 surrounded by his wife and son after a courageous battle with colon cancer.
Born in Worcester, MA on October 18, 1938, he was the son of Lawrence William Fisher and Doris (Wilson) Fisher and was their only child.
Larry graduated from Athol High School, Class of 1959. After high school, he worked at Woodwards Lumber Yard for a brief period of time and then began his career as a lineman for Massachusetts Electric in 1960. His 45 years of service as a lineman included National Grid Local 42 Contractors, Boston Edison Local 42, Canada Local 42 and Saudi Arabia; retiring in 2004.
An avid sports fan, Larry coached locally for the Easthampton Little League system, the Easthampton Legion 224 and the Easthampton High School baseball team. He also coached hockey for one year for Easthampton High School as well as the Easthampton midgets hockey.
On September 7, 1963, Larry married Judith L (Bettey) and would have celebrated 55 years together this September. Together, they have a son, Lawrence William Fisher of Easthampton, MA.
Larry is survived by his wife, Judy Fisher, son Lawrence W. Fisher (Lori) and grandchildren, Alex and Rachel; sister-in-law Joanne (Bettey) Dumas and many nieces, nephews and cousins. He was predeceased by twin infant sons Michael Charles Fisher and Angelo John Fisher in September 1966 and a brother-in-law Kent Dumas who passed away on May 19, 2018.
A funeral memorial liturgy is scheduled for Saturday, July 21, 2018 at 11:00 a.m. at the Holy Family Parish, 5 Main Street, Russell, MA. At his request, there are no calling hours. Burial will be private and at the convenience of the family.
