Judith “Judy” (Rhoades) Carriveau, age 71, of Easthampton, died on Saturday February 23, 2019 at Baystate Medical Center in Springfield with her beloved husband Paul at her side after a battle with cancer.
Judy was born in Northampton on May 7, 1947 and was the daughter of the late Myron Rhoades and Dorothy (Caldwell) Rhoades. She was educated in Northampton and graduated in the class of 1965 from Northampton High School and Bay Path Junior College in 1967. Upon graduation she moved to Boston and worked at Boston Children's Hospital. She married Steve Fiott, and with Art Pearl formed the White Mountain Singers. In the mid 70's she parted ways with Steve and moved back to western Massachusetts. She worked at Northampton National Bank for a number of years, until leaving for a position at Smith Charities, from which she retired in 2014. She was an active member of the Easthampton Congregational Church, teaching Sunday School, singing in the choir, and later becoming a Deacon. Judy was a devoted wife and mother, as well as, a lifetime lover of music and animals, having rescued several dogs over the years.
Judy is survived by her loving and devoted husband of thirty eight years, Paul Raymond Carriveau, her two loving sons; Michael and his wife Jessica and their new baby son James, Andrew and his partner Stacy Gillett and soon to be second grandchild on the way. Her sister Nancy Rhoades and her husband David Fortier and her brother John Rhoades and his wife Lisa and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral Services for Judy are scheduled for Thursday, February 28th at 10am at the Easthampton Congregational Church, 112 Main Street in Easthampton, the burial will be private. Calling hours will be held on Wednesday, February 27th from 4-7pm at the GRAHAM FUNERAL HOME &CREMATION SERVICES, 18 Adams Street in Easthampton, whom honorably and proudly has been entrusted with providing for Judy's Care and Services.
