Joseph (Joe Stan) Stanisiewski Sr Obituary

Joseph Stanisiewski

Florence- Joseph Peter Stanisiewski Sr. (Joe Stan), age 77, of Park Street in Florence, passed

away peacefully on Tuesday July 3rd, surrounded by his loving wife and family. He battled the

silent disease of cancer without a complaint, just kept trying to win until God called him Safely

Home. Joe was born in Northampton on August 11, 1940 and was the son of the late Joseph L.

and Felicia (Januskiewicz) Stanisiewski.

He was a graduate of Smith Vocational High School. After graduation, Joe served in the United

States Marine Corps- “Semper Fi!” He proudly wore his 3rd Marine Corps Division Cap. In 2007,

retired from Chartpak as leadman in the Shipping & Receiving. He enjoyed bowling, darts,

playing cards, keno, watching the Red Sox, Patriots, Nascar racing, loved to dance – especially

Polkas, but most of all, dinners with family, “Imp 2”, and friends.

Joe loved being with people. He could walk into a room of strangers and walk out with many

friends. His sense of humor was like a magnat! He will be deeply missed by the love of his life,

his wife Rita (Dowdy) Stanisiewski, his sons, Joseph of Oregon and Keith of California, his

beloved sister, Roberta Boulanger of Hadley, his special niece, Michele and Jim Matuszko of

Hadley, his cousin, Al Gagne of Florida, the Stanne family, grand niece, Nicole and Tyler

Herrington of New York, the mother of his two sons, Darlene Graham, along with many relatives

of the Graham family and many special friends.

Services for Joe will be held on Tuesday, July 10th with a Liturgy of Christian Burial at 10am

at the Our Lady of the Valley Parish, 33 Adams Street, followed by burial with Military Honors

at Saint Stanislaus Cemetery in Easthampton. Calling hours will be held on Monday July 9th from
